WooHoo! How bizarre. I've been after my youth minister to set up a postnuke or some similar for 6 or 8 months, finally I'm going to go over it with him tomorrow at 9:00 am, show him the ropes and see what he wants to do...

I have many questions since you seem to be going all the places I'm trying to get my church to go with the web stuff. Sucks to not be first but now I have the advantage of learning from your experience =D

Is that a nuke site of somesort? I saw slashdot news.. is that the CMS?

The youth page is set up with PostNuke. I don't actually run that one but I can find out anything you want to know about it. The youth pastor surfduke (Dennis) goes crazy with that thing.

Actually we've got a computer guru at church that donates space on his server for our pages. It's really a great asset. So what's your situation at your home church? Are you the only advocate for using more of this stuff or what's the deal?

we're pretty lame on the web scene, I'm hoping this new youth site will show the possibilities.

We won't be going with postnuke, he wan't a mo pretty customized layout so it should be sharp. If I can ever get the youthguy to slow down enough to answer some questions =)

the guy running the server? he has a good connection? upstream speed I mean? We have a guy running a server out of his home on cable, the up speed is capped but it's not that big a deal since there's rarely ever more than one person on it at a time apparently.
