Life's Purpose and the little things.
Back in April, Wella and I decided to host a home bible study. We've completed that study this last Wednesday and it went very well. It was based on Rick Warren's book, A Purpose Driven Life. It was designed as a 40 day study where you read one chapter from his book. The book outlines God's purpose for everyone's life.
Basically it comes down to 5 purposes:
Purpose #1: You Were Designed for God's Delight
Purpose #2: You Were Formed for God's Family
Purpose #3: You Were Created to Become Like Christ
Purpose #4: You Were Shaped For Serving God
Purpose #5: You Were Made for a Mission
I am very pleased we decided to do this. Including Wella and I, we had 8 people attend this home study. It was such a blessing to us all that as a group we have decided to continue meeting on Wednesday nights. We are going to begin a study of the book of James very soon once we can get hold of the materials.
If anyone is interested in starting a home bible study or if anyone is interested in discussing this further with me, just drop be a note and I would be more than happy to share what I've learned so far.
Since we chatted about this one day over Q I've met 3 or 4 people that are currently doing it. It's the latest Christian Craze! =)
That's awesome that you're still going to meet man, don't ever stop if you can manage, that kind of fellowship is incredibly sharpening.

Just read that article, LOL!!! I can't believe they're requiring it for membership. I wouldn't be too thrilled about a move like that but more people reading this book is not going to hurt that much is for sure.
Just as a follow up, we just received the study materials for James and we'll be starting this coming week. Very cool.

Glad you dropped by! Yes, it is a very good book. Make sure you read one chapter a day like it recommends. That way it gives you time to ponder each chapter and the material sinks in better.
